On the morning of 22th March, the 2021 International Student Promotional Session of Huazhong University of Science and Technology-Hankao International Thailand Special Session was successfully held at HUST. Mr. LIU Junhua, Dean of the School of International Education of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Mr. LIU Jinshan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of Chunfu Dazhong International High School in Thailand attended the session. Representatives of students and staff from Chunfu Dazhong International High School in Thailand also participated in this event. The session was hosted by Mr. YU Wenchang, Program Officer of the International Admission and Cooperation Office of the School of International Education, and Ms. XIONG Ranran, International Students Counsellor of the School of Economics, also participated in the presentation.

Dean LIU Junhua and Vice Chairman LIU Jinshan commenced the event by delivering opening speeches successively. In the speech, LIU Junhua briefly introduced the development overview, running philosophy and international education of HUST. He warmly welcomed Thai students to study at HUST. Moreover, LIU Jinshan expressed his thankfulness for strong support provided by HUST and Hankao International, and hoped that Thai students can get a preliminary understanding of Chinese universities and majors through this lecture. In the future, more Thai students are expected to study in China and make contributions to the long-lasting friendship between the two countries.

Afterward, with the introduction of "Exploring HUST" promotional video, YU Wenchang gave an introduction of the college scale, development history, comprehensive ranking, discipline construction, international cooperation and outstanding alumni of HUST. Further, he demonstrated an online learning platform "DISCOVER AT HUST" and a series of high-quality online courses developed during the post-epidemic period to students and staff invited. Together with XIONG Ranran, YU Wenchang further focused on the introduction of undergraduate major of international economics and trade. Both students and staff showed great interest and they raised questions actively.

This presentation is organized by Hankao International together with the HSK test center of the Phuket Confucius Institute at Prince of Songkhla University, the HSK test center of the Confucius Institute at Mansonde Chao Phraya Royal Normal University in Thailand, the HSK test center of the Confucius Institute at Mae Fah Luang University in Thailand, and the Chunfu Dazhong International High School in Thailand. This is the first online session of the 2021 HSK Thailand Studying in China series, and an active exploration of new forms of publicity for studying in China during the post-epidemic period. In the future, HUST will continue cooperating with the international communities, including educational and publicity institutions, colleges and universities, so as to make innovations and forge ahead to improve the service quality of international students’ admission, thereby attracting more high-quality students to study at HUST.
