On the afternoon of March 28th, the 2021 International Student Online Promotional Session for Europe was successfully held.

The session was hosted by Hankao International, undertaken by the Chinese Proficiency Test UK Committee, the Chinese Proficiency Test Spain Committee, the Hungarian Roland University Confucius Institute, the French Chinese Language Teachers Association, the French Montargis-Chinese Friendship Association, and the Slovak Dunmin College. Ten well-known Chinese universities, including Huazhong University of Science and Technology, were invited to communicate online with European students. Mr. YU Wenchang, Program Officer of the School of International Education of HUST attended the session. Over 300 student representatives from European countries participated in this event.

Firstly, YU Wenchang gave an introduction of the university development history, comprehensive ranking, discipline construction, international cooperation, outstanding alumni, and international education of HUST. Then, he demonstrated an online learning platform "DISCOVER AT HUST", a series of high-quality online courses and various online short-term programs to the participants. He encouraged European students to learn preparatory courses, Chinese language and Chinese culture courses through the online platform, actively participate in the short-term programs such as online summer camps, and learn about our courses and majors, so as to make sufficient preparation for studying at HUST in advance.

In the end, YU Wenchang answered questions about scholarship policies raised by European students, and the participants showed great interest to study at HUST.

The online promotional session for international students’ admission is an innovative initiative taken by HUST in the post-epidemic period. For now, HUST has set up concrete targets in the international education development plan to attract more high-quality international students to study at HUST. This European session is designed for publicizing HUST among famous European universities.
