From July 2 to July 21, 29 international students from Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and Oxford University came to Huazhong University of Science and Technology to participate in a three-week summer Chinese program.

During the program, the students travelled to a great number of famous landmark buildings in Wuhan. They ascended the Yellow Crane Tower to overlook the entire city, visited the Yangtze river at the bank, went to museums to explore the long history of Wuhan, travelled to Hankouli to experience the customs of old Wuhan and entered Wuhan Planning Exhibition Hall to admire the outlook of the city. While learning Chinese language and culture, the international students together with Chinese volunteers experienced the traditional joy of making Chinese knots and paper cutting, the combination of hardness and softness in Tai Chi and the first-time practice of making dumplings.  

In such a short period of three weeks, the international students have had a comprehensive knowledge of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Wuhan city, experienced China’s traditional culture and modern look and gained precious international friendships. “During the project, I explored Chinese language and civilization, felt the unique Asian culture, made friends from Thailand and the United Kingdom and got a deeper understanding of cultural diversity. Thanks to the organizers and volunteers of Huazhong University of Science and Technology for these beautiful memories”, Soussou, a student from Morocco said to the reporter.

When talking about feelings of participating in the program, Hu Anqi, a Chinese volunteer said, "I hope we can do more to let international students appreciate the hospitality and warmth of Chinese people and the strength and inclusiveness of China."

7月2日至21日，来自泰国皇家理工大学，摩洛哥默罕默德六世综合理工大学，英国牛津大学的29名国际学生来到华中科技大学，参加为期三周的暑期中文项目。

项目期间，他们登黄鹤楼，游长江；进博物馆感受湖北的悠久历史，赴汉口里体验老武汉的风情，在武汉规划展览馆一览武汉的未来画卷。在学习汉语和中国文化的同时，国际学生和中国志愿者一起，体验中国结和剪纸的传统乐趣，感受太极拳的刚柔并济，并在食堂第一次体验擀面和包饺子。

短短三个星期，国际学生们对华中科技大学和武汉有了一个较为全面的了解，体验了中国的传统文化和现代风貌，也收获了珍贵的国际友谊。来自摩洛哥的罗素告诉记者，”在这段时间里，我探索了中国的语言和文明，感受了亚洲的独特文化，同时认识了来自泰国和英国的朋友，加深了对文化多样性的了解。感谢华中科技大学的组织者和志愿者们，给我带来了一段美好的记忆。”

谈到参加项目的感受，中国志愿者胡安琪说道， ”我希望我们能够做更多的事情，让国际学生体会到中国人的热情与温暖，以及中国的强大和包容。“
