Sri Lanka Senior Government Officials Seminar successfully Held

        Senior government officials delegation from Sri Lanka attended a public administration training program for 12 days from February 27th to March 10th in HUST . This program, themed by public administration and held by College of Public Administration and School of International Education, consists of lecture instruction, site-visit and on-the-spot investigations. 35 senior government officials participated in this program, including Dr. Sepalika, the Deputy Director of Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA), Mr. Herath Pathiranage Kularathna, the Chief Secretary of Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council, and Mr. Viduth, the Administrative Assistant of Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration.

 

The opening ceremony was held in the meeting room of College of Public Administration. Mr. Xu Xiaodong, the Vice-president of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Dean of College of Public Administration firstly extended warm welcome to the guests, then he introduced the development of HUST and stated that China and Sri Lanka enjoyed ever-lasting traditional friendship and he hoped that more and more Sri Lanka officials will come to HUST for visiting and exchange in the future.

During the delegation’s stay in Wuhan, Prof. Wang Bing, Associate Professor Yang Lanrong and Associate Professor Li Jing from College of Public Administration gave lectures on relative topics in the field of public administration and discussed with the officials, making the lecture effective and rewarding.

The delegation also paid a visit to Hubei Provincial Bureau of Civil Service, Hubei Provincial Department of Education, Hubei Provincial Department of Finance, Government of Hongshan District and other public institutions. Both sides had extensive discussion and communication on government organization structure, education system and fiscal management.

         In addition, with visits to Wuhan City Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, Wuhan Science City of Future and Three Gorges Dam in Yichang city, the delegation had a further understanding of infrastructure construction and overall planning of Hubei Province.

 

    

On the closing ceremony, Dr. Sepalika, Deputy Director of Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) expressed his sincere thanks for all the considerate arrangement and he said that he really expected to build more cooperation on training program with HUST. Mr. Liu Junhua, the Vice Director of International Exchange Center, Dean of School of International Education, expressed great congratulations to the success of this program and hoped that the friendship between SLIDA and HUST could be strengthened through more exchange and cooperation.

 

Ms. Ma Donghui, Secretary of College of Public Administration, Mr. Tan Shukui, Vice-dean of College of Public Administration, Ms. Zhao Xiaofeng, Vice-dean of School of International Education and other staff attended these activities all above.

 

 

 

斯里兰卡高级别官员研修班在我校成功举办

 

(撰稿,陈骏;翻译,冯伟业)227日至310日,来自斯里兰卡的高级别官员代表团在我校完成了为期12天的培训。此次培训活动是由公共管理学院和国际教育学院共同承办,培训班成员包括斯里兰卡国家行政学院(简称SLIDA)副院长Sepalika博士,斯里兰卡萨巴拉加穆瓦省议会秘书长Herath Pathiranage Kularathna斯里兰卡国家行政学院行政助理Viduth在内的35名高级官员。培训课程以公共管理为主题,由课堂讲解,参观访问和实地考察三个部分组成。

 

开班仪式在公管学院会议室举行,华中科技大学副校长、公共管理学院院长许晓东出席了开班仪式。许校长首先对来宾的到来表示了热烈的欢迎,接着向来宾们介绍了我校的发展情况,他表示中斯两国的传统友谊源远流长,希望有更多的斯里兰卡官员来我校进行交流和访问。

在汉期间,公共管理学院的王冰教授,杨兰蓉副教授和李菁副教授分别就公共管理领域做了相关的主题讲座,并与学员们展开了讨论和互动,课堂讲解达到了预期效果

随后代表团还先后访问了湖北省公务员局、省教育厅、省财政厅、洪山区政府等省政机关和事业单位,并与相关的领导和负责人进行了会谈,与会双方就两国的政府机构设置,教育体制,财政管理等方面的内容进行了深入的探讨和交流。

此外,代表团还参观了武汉城市规划馆,武汉未来科技城,并前往宜昌市实地考察了三峡水利枢纽工程,对我省的基础设施建设和未来的总体规划有了进一步的了解。

在结业典礼上,斯里兰卡国家行政学院副院长Sepalika对此次研修班的活动策划表示了诚挚的感谢,并表达了与我校在更多培训项目上建立合作的热切愿望。国际交流处副处长、国际教育学院院长刘俊华对研修班的成功举办致以诚挚的祝贺,希望双方继续加强合作,为两国的传统友谊添砖加瓦。

公共管理学院党委书记马东卉,公共管理学院副院长谭术魁,国际教育学院副院长赵晓峰以及相关院系工作人员出席了以上活动。
