(Reported by RANJAN SARMA KAUSHIK) 2016 CSC (China Scholarship Council) distinguished international student scholarship awarding ceremony was held in Friendship Apartment on March 6th. Ms Zhao Xiaofeng, vice dean of School of International Education, Mr Lan Hanghang, director of International Student Office, and the CSC scholarship winners attended the ceremony.

The whole ceremony was hosted by Mr Lan. He firstly expressed his warm welcome to all the students. And afterwards, Ms. Zhao congratulated all the scholarship winners for their outstanding academic performance and encouraged the scholarship winners to become more dedicated, persistent after winning this scholarship, and she is looking forward to students’ more contribution on promoting exchange after graduation from HUST.

Afterwards, Ms Zhao awarded the scholarship winners with honorary certificates which are especially made by CSC. A total of 5 undergraduates and 3 postgraduates from HUST were awarded with this scholarship.

Mr. JEHANE MICHAEL LE GRANGE, an undergraduate student majoring in MBBS, from South Africa gave a speech as an international student representative. He expressed his gratitude towards CSC awards and appreciation to the efforts made by HUST, and he felt himself to be very proud as a young and international HUSTer.

我校举行2016/2017学年国家留学基金委“优秀来华留学生奖学金”颁奖典礼

(翻译 张甜)2016年国家留学基金委“优秀来华留学生奖学金”颁奖典礼于3月6号在友谊公寓举行。国际教育学院副院长赵晓峰、留学生办公室主任兰行行以及获得该奖学金的留学生们参加了此次颁奖典礼。

此次典礼由兰老师主持。兰老师首先对所有获奖学生参加此次颁奖典礼表示热烈欢迎。随后，赵院长对所有的获奖学生表示祝贺，并赞扬他们在学术上的杰出表现。赵院长鼓励学生们再接再厉，在接下来的学习生活中更加努力并持之以恒，并期望留学生们毕业后继续为母校的国际文化交流做出贡献。

随后，赵院长分别为我校获奖学生颁发了国家留学基金委特别制作的荣誉证书。我校此次共有5名本科生和3名研究生获得奖学金。

来自南非的临床医学专业的留学生约汉作为获奖学生代表发言。他在讲话中表达了对国家留学基金委的感谢，以及对学校举办此次典礼的感激之情，他为自己是一名年轻的华科留学生而感到骄傲。
