Prof. Seligman visiting WNLO

 

On May 28th, the president of the University of Rochester, Prof. Joel Seligman and his colleagues visited HUST. The delegation included its vice president, Prof. Peter Lennie, the dean of Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Prof. Robert Clark, the member of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Even Y Lam and the director of the Institute of Optics, Prof. Zhang Xicheng. HUST president Li Peigen and vice president Luo Qingmin, met the delegation.


The visitors were introduced the overview of Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (WNLO). Then they looked around the Advanced Non-Linear Terahertz Laboratory and Wuhan National High Magnetic Field Center.


Prof. Li Peigen had a deep discussion with the delegation about the cooperation and exchanges between two universities. Both sides signed the intercollegiate cooperation agreement and the student exchange agreement.


The University of Rochester is a well-known university in America. And the Institute of Optics is one of the top among American optical institutes. In addition, its director Prof. Zhang Xicheng is the academic leader of the Advanced Non-Linear Terahertz Laboratory of WNLO, HUST.
