On October 13, 2025, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, and aiming to deepen educational and cultural cooperation while enhancing interaction between the youth of both nations, a delegation of 12 outstanding students selected by the Thailand's Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) arrived at our university for the two-week visit program of “Discover at HUST”.

During their stay, the Thai students visited multiple schools and departments, including the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation, the School of Architecture and Urban Planning, the College of Public Administration, the School of Economics, the School of Humanities, the School of Software Engineering, Union Hospital, and HUST International Education Base of Engineering. They gained a comprehensive understanding of our university's strengths in various disciplines and its international academic environment. Laboratory tours, lectures and discussions with current students also gave the delegation in-depth insights into our international programs, admission policies and talent-development goals.

Beyond the campus, the students actively explored to experience the charm of Wuhan city. From the Hubei Provincial Museum, which carries the rich history of Chu culture, to the China Architecture Science and Technology Museum, which display the fusion of art and technology, the students appreciated the depth of Jing-Chu culture while witnessing China's rapid development. By personally experiencing the city's diverse public transportation systems, including the metro, tram, and suspended monorail, the students gained a tangible sense of Wuhan's efforts in smart-city innovation.

This event of “Discover at HUST” not only opened a window for the Thai students to gain a deeper understanding of HUST but also sparked a strong interest in pursuing further studies here. At the closing session, many students expressed the hope of joining HUST in the near future, and of contributing to the educational exchange between Thailand and China.
