Notice on Teaching and Online Registration Arrangements for New HUST International Students Outside Chinese Mainland of 2020 Autumn Semester

To All New HUST International Students Outside Chinese Mainland:

 

In order to carry out teaching works for international students smoothly and effectively, the teaching arrangements and online registration for new international students Outside Chinese Mainland in the Autumn Semester 2020 are hereby notified as follows:

 

I. Teaching Arrangements

(1) Undergraduate Students

All major courses of this semester will be conducted through online teaching.

(2) Graduate Students

a) English-Medium Program: Apart from students who need to do experiments or have practical training, other students should attend online teaching of major courses. The following departments will provide online teaching:

School of Materials Science and Engineering

School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

School of Electronics and Information Engineering

School of Public Administration

School of Management

School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

School of Mechanical Science and Engineering

School of Computer Science and Technology

School of Economics

School of Energy and Power Engineering

School of Life Science and Technology

School of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering

School of Cyber Science and Engineering

Wuhan National Laboratory of Optoelectronics

b) Chinese-Medium Program: For students of the School of Humanities, the major courses will be carried out through online teaching. For other students, major courses are postponed for one academic year.

3. Chinese Language Students

All major courses of this semester will be conducted through online teaching.

4. General Non-degree Students (Non-Chinese major)

No online teaching will be arranged this semester. It is recommended to postpone the registration for one academic year.

5. Public Compulsory Courses

Public compulsory courses (Chinese Language and Orientation Courses for New International Students) of this semester will be conducted through online teaching.

 

Courses for all undergraduate programs, all Chinese language programs, and most of postgraduate programs are carried out online this semester and students will start online learning after completing online registration firstly. Only a minority of graduate program students and general non-degree students are permitted to defer admission for one year due to the fact that online courses are NOT provided by their department in this semester. A formal application letter for deferred admission for one year should be sent to admission@hust.edu.cn before October 31, 2020 at the latest. Otherwise, they will be considered as having given up the admission qualification.

 

II. Online Appointment & Online Registration & Tuition Payment

All the new students who are offered online teaching courses should finish online appointment and online registration before October 31, 2020. Only the registered students are permitted to attend online teaching courses. (The online appointment and online registration guidance are attached).

To ensure successfully complete the registration, new self-supported students outside Chinese mainland are requested to pay the full tuition fee as soon as possible.  

 

III. Schooling Suspension

Those who have finished online appointment and online registration while cannot attend online teaching due to personal reasons should submit an online application for schooling suspension. The graduate students who apply for schooling suspension for one academic year shall not be permitted to apply for schooling suspension again for any reason after coming to the university (According to the regulations in the HUST Handbook for International Students (Chapter VII), the accumulative suspension time of graduate students shall not exceed one academic year).

关于2020年秋季学期境外国际新生教学工作安排和网上注册的通知

全体境外国际新生:

根据“中华人民共和国外交部、国家移民管理局关于暂停持有效中国签证、居留许可的外国人入境的公告”,境外国际学生暂时无法持目前有效来华签证和居留许可入境。为确保国际学生正常教学工作顺利开展,现将有关2020年秋季学期境外国际新生教学工作安排通知如下。

一、教学安排

1. 本科生教学安排

本学期专业课程均以线上教学形式开展。

2. 研究生教学安排

1)授课语言为英语:除部分院系因课程需结合实验、实训等原因无法提供线上课程外,以下院系专业课程以线上教学形式开展:

材料科学与工程学院

电气与电子工程学院

电子信息与通信学院

公共管理学院

管理学院

化学与化工学院

机械科学与工程学院

计算机科学与技术学院

经济学院

能源与动力工程学院

生命科学与技术学院

土木与水利工程学院

网络空间安全学院

武汉光电国家研究中心

2)授课语言为汉语:人文学院专业课程以线上教学形式开展,其他院系专业课程推迟一学年开课。

 3. 汉语进修生教学安排

本学期专业课程均以线上教学形式开展。

 4. 普通进修生(非汉语专业)

本学期不安排线上教学,建议推迟一学年报到入学

 5. 公共必修课程安排

本学期公共必修课程《汉语》、《国际学生新生导入课》将以线上教学形式开展。

所有本科生和汉语进修生必须首先完成在线注册后才能获得学习资格。因院系无法开设线上课程导致无法注册上课的研究生和普通进修生新生,可申请延期一年入学。请准备一份关于延期一年入学的正式申请信,于1031日之前发送至admission@hust.edu.cn,逾期未发送的视为自动放弃学习。

二、预报到&线上注册&缴纳学费

所有开设线上课程的院系新生,须在20201031日前完成预报到和线上注册,注册成功后方可参加线上教学。

为保证顺利完成注册,请境外自费生尽快缴纳足额学费。

三、休学办理

完成预报到和线上注册的境外新生因个人原因无法参加线上教学,可在线申请休学。申请休学一学年的研究生来校后不得以任何理由申请休学。(根据《华中科技大学研究生学籍管理细则》,研究生休学时间累计不得超过一学年。)

四、线上教学开课时间:2020119日起。
