Notice on Selecting “Outstanding International Students Studying in China” for the 2020/2021 Academic Year

According to the notice from the Ministry of Education, the International Student Office organizes “Outstanding International Students Studying in China” selection in the 2020-2021 academic year. The details are as follows:
Qualified Applicants:
Registered HUST undergraduate students in grade two or above, or registered HUST post-graduate students in grade two or above.
Selection Quota
Winners are limited to 9 students（6 of self-supported students and 3 of Chinese Government Scholarship students）
Award Standards
Self-Supported Undergraduates: Awarded Certificate & one-time RMB 18,000 Yuan/person
Self-Supported Post-graduates: Awarded Certificate & one-time RMB 30,000 Yuan/person
Chinese Government Scholarship students: Only Awarded Certificate.
Requirements for Application:
1. Perform well in China.
2. Comply with laws and legislations; be physically and mentally healthy; develop comprehensively.
3. Excellent academic performance and strong learning and researching ability
4. Under the same conditions, students who have difficulty in economy are preferred.
Required Materials for Application:
Self-supported students:
1. Application Form- Outstanding International Student, MOE, P.R. China
2. Studying Certificate
3. Academic Transcript of the 2019-2020 school year
4. An Essay:
Theme: my story of studying in China
Writing language: English or Chinese
Word count: over 800 words
Both hard copy and soft copy are required to submit. (applicants on main campus send soft copy to wzy2011@hust.edu.cn; applicants on Tongji campus send soft copy to iso_tj@hust.edu.cn)
5. Other supporting materials (eg. Award certificates, reports of the recommender, etc.)
Chinese Government Scholarship students:
In addition to the above materials, the following materials are also required for Chinese Government Scholarship students.
Information Form for the Selection of Outstanding International Students in China in 2020 (Both the excel form and the scanned copy with department and school seals shall be submitted)
Index report and acceptation notice of papers or the supporting materials for participating in publication of monograph
Award or patent certificates for various national, provincial and municipal competitions
Other supporting materials
Please submit all the required materials to Mr. Wang (main campus, wzy2011@hust.edu.cn) or Ms. Jolly Luo (Tongji campus, iso_tj@hust.edu.cn) of International Students Office (ISO) before November 10. If you fail to submit your application on time, ISO will no longer accept it. All fake application materials will lead to disqualification.

关于评选2020-2021学年“优秀来华留学生”
的通知
各相关院系：
按照教育部通知要求，我校组织评选并推荐2020-2021学年"优秀来华留学生"，上报国家留学基金委审批，以表彰知华友华、品学兼优的来华留学生。现将有关事宜通知如下：
评选对象
本科二年级(含)以上或研究生二年级(含)以上全日制学历生。
二、评选名额
共9人，其中自费生名额6人，中国政府奖学金生名额3人。
三、获奖奖励
自费本科生颁发荣誉证书和一次性奖励人民币18,000元/人，自费研究生颁发荣誉证书和一次性奖励人民币30,000元/人，中国政府奖学金生仅颁发荣誉证书，不颁发奖金。
四、申请条件
(一)知华友华，表现优秀。
(二)遵纪守法，身心健康，全面发展。
(三)学习成绩优异，具备较强的学习和研究能力。
(四)同等条件下，家庭经济条件困难者优先。
五、申请材料
自费生
1) 教育部优秀来华留学生申请表
2)在读证明
3)2019-2020学年的成绩单
4)《我的留华故事》一篇(题目不限)，写作语言为英文或中文，字数不少于800字（纸质扫描版和Word电子版（主校区学生发送至wzy2011@hust.edu.cn,同济校区学生发送至iso_tj@hust.edu.cn）都需提交
5)其他辅助支撑材料(如：获奖证书、有关推荐人的宣传报道等)
中国政府奖学金生
除按自费生要求提供上述材料外，还须填写2020年优秀来华留学生评选信息表（EXCEL电子表格和加盖院系印章扫描版都需提交）并提供以下材料
1)文章的检索证明、录用通知(其他论文不作为支撑材料上报)或参与发表专著的证明材料。
2)各类国家级、省市级比赛的获奖证明或专利证明等。
3)其他证明材料
请于11月10日前将申请材料提交至我院国际学生办公室王老师（主校区，wzy2011@hust.edu.cn）或医科国际学生办公室骆老师（同济校区，iso_tj@hust.edu.cn），未按时提交申请的，将不予受理。凡申请材料弄虚作假的，一律取消参评资格。
