In order to help international students deepen their understanding of advanced manufacturing technology and numerical controlling system, associate professor Wang Pingjiang from School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, led international undergraduate students of grade 2014, to pay a visit to the famous enterprise, Wuhan Huazhong Numerical Control Co. LTD, on March 21st.

Professor Wang firstly introduced the development history of the company. During the 1980's, the company only had 2-axis machines to use for the production. However, as the time went by, the company have received great developments in technology and as a result they now own 5-axis and even 7-axis machines instead of the outmoded 2-axis machines. Professor Wang also introduced the wide usage of those machine tools in the market, such as cutting operations, the control system of the machine tools, production line, the automatic control of machine tools and the central control system, etc.

After Professor Wang’s introduction, the international students visited the company’s processing area and achieved more intuitive feelings and understandings of the numerical control system and the processing. All the students have obtained a deeper understanding of the high-technology processing after this visiting activity.
