A Series of Activities on Chinese Culture Held for Language Students

On March.29th, students from B1 made dumplings together in D5 Building and experienced the special DIY process for the common homemade food in China.

 Students from B1,C1 and C2 also organized the same activity by making dumplings in D9 not long ago. Having dumplings is a traditional custom in some areas in China and though festival atmosphere of the lunar new year faded away,the students were still very passionate towards dumplings.

The students made the dumplings creatively and you could see them in shapes like steamed bun, triangle and even pillow.Some students were very good at it and could not helping smiling when seeing their well-shaped babies.

Afterwards the students cooked the dumplings in the electronic oven brought by themselves and they all had a bite of the delicious food.

On March.18th, students from A1 learned Chinese martial arts in the east playground.Two masters specialized in it not only demonstrated the movement carefully, but also corrected the movements of the students patiently. The students were overwhelmed by the charm of the mysterious and powerful art.

On the same day, students from A2 experienced paper-cutting in D9 Building. The teachers guided them to cut the pieces of red paper into different patterns vividly and the student all enjoyed the trip to Chinese traditional crafts.

As the saying goes that there is no royal road to learning, calligraphy is an art to be explored with persistence and passion. On March.18th, students from B4 started off their first march towards this art road under the guide of two teachers, who demonstrated different fonts and study tools for calligraphy.

In the meanwhile, students from B2 flew kites or kicked the shuttlecock on the playground in couples, the traditional games for ancient Chinese. A competition was held as well and Chuyanov Maruf from Tajikistan won the first prize by kicking the shuttlecock over 70 times consistently and the winners were awarded with shuttlecock or kites.

Taji added liveliness to the same playground since students from C1 were learning this popular exercises among Chinese, where hardness and softness were embodied and Yin and Yang were transformed.Two masters of Taiji displayed the wisdom descended from ancient China and all the students learned with full attention.

Heehyun Yang from Republic of Korea and Anastasiia Noskova from Russia were born in March and on March.29th, and teachers and students from B4 held a traditional Chinese birthday party for them, where they had longevity noodles and eggs, the symbols for a long life.

In fact, the teacher and students were preparing an album as a present for them a few days ago, on which everyone photoed with best wishes. When receiving such a meaningful gift, Heehyun Yang and Anastasiia Noskova were very excited:”This has been the most unforgettable birthday for me so far and not only did I experienced the traditional birthday custom, but also feel the warmness of our big family!
