12月28日下午，国际教育学院组织召开2021年度国际学生校友区域联络人线上工作会议。来自世界50多个国家的120多名国际校友区域联络人在线参会。国际教育学院副院长赵晓峰、何刚出席此次会议。各院系教师代表以及院内各科室负责人参会。
On the afternoon of December 28, the 2021 International Alumni Gathering was successfully held by School of International Education, HUST. Ms. ZHAO Xiaofeng and Mr. HE Gang, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, attended the meeting. Over 120 international alumni from over 50 countries, and faculties representatives of HUST participated online.
赵晓峰首先对参加此次线上会议的国际校友表示欢迎。她说道：“毕业之后大家虽然分散在世界各地，但始终拥有一个共同的身份——‘huster’。过去你们以母校为荣，今天母校以你们为荣！明年将迎来母校70周年校庆，欢迎校友们常回家看看，母校永远是你们的第二故乡！”赵晓峰还提到，近年来母校在人才培养、科研实力、国际化办学、校友工作等方面均取得了突出成绩，希望各位校友充分利用自身资源，为母校和海外高校、企业及研究机构搭建起合作的桥梁。
Ms. ZHAO Xiaofeng extended warm welcome to all the international alumni and said, "Although after graduation you are in different parts of the world, you always share the same identity--Huster. In the past, you were proud to be a Huster. Now HUST is proud of you! Next year, HUST will celebrate its 70th birthday, and our alumni are welcome back home! HUST will always be your second home!" Ms. ZHAO also mentioned that in recent years, HUST has achieved outstanding accomplishments in talent cultivation, scientific research innovation, international education, and alumni work. She hoped that all international alumni can build up a communication platform altogether and promote cooperation between HUST and overseas universities, enterprises and research institutions.
国际教育学院招生与对外合作办公室主任严薇为校友们详细介绍了2022年我校首届全球国际校友大会的相关工作，并就分享校友风采、选拔校友大使、签约合作协议、接待校友返校等工作进行了安排。
Ms. YAN Wei, Director of International Admission and Cooperation Office, School of International Education, HUST, gave detailed introduction to the work arrangements of 2022 HUST Global International Alumni Conference, including sharing alumni stories, selecting alumni ambassador, signing cooperation agreements, and welcome home activities.
国际教育学院招生与对外合作办公室高级项目主管艾霄对参会校友进行了2022年度国际学生招生宣讲，希望校友们发挥自身的影响力，积极宣传母校，共同打造“留学华中大”国际品牌。
Mr. AI Xiao, Senior Program Officer of International Admission and Cooperation Office, School of International Education, HUST, gave a presentation on 2022 International Student Admission to all the attendees. He encouraged international alumni to participate in HUST international student admission promotion and jointly work to attract more qualified international students to study at HUST.
在自由交流环节，校友们纷纷回忆起当年在华中大求学生活的美好画面。科特迪瓦校友欧吉（KPRE ANGE，现就职于武汉烽火通信科技股份有限公司）、危地马拉校友塞莉娅（CELIA JUDITH DEL ROSARIO ESQUIVEL SALGUERO，自由媒体人）以及哈萨克斯坦校友李哲（YELTAY RAKHMANOV，现就职于Nazarbayev University）作为校友代表，分别讲述了自己在华中大的求学故事，以及毕业后的事业发展历程。
In Q&A session, alumni recalled their studying and living experiences at HUST. Three alumni representatives, KPRE ANGE from Cote d'Ivoire (working at Wuhan Fiberhome Communication Technology Co., Ltd.), CELIA JUDITH DEL ROSARIO ESQUIVEL SALGUERO from Guatemala (freelance media worker) and YELTAY RAKHMANOV from Kazakhstan (working at Nazarbayev University), shared their individual stories and work progress after graduation.
会议结束后，校友们依依不舍、久久不愿离开，纷纷表示有机会一定会回母校，看看他们曾生活学习的地方，看看曾经培养他们的老师们。在疫情笼罩全球的背景下，此次校方与国际校友进行的线上“面对面”沟通，给世界各国校友送上了来自母校的温暖和关心。
In the end, all alumni expressed their yearning to come back home and to see their once lived dormitory, studied classroom, and to meet their respectable teachers. They expressed their heartfelt thanks to HUST for organizing this online “face-to-face” gathering, which demonstrated the warmest regards and caring from HUST to alumni all over the world.
我校自20世纪50年代开始招收国际学生，近70年来为国家培养了大批对华友好的杰出人才。近年来，国际教育学院全面推进国际学生校友工作，积极探索与校友合作的新模式，加强与国际校友的沟通联络。举办此次国际学生校友区域联络人线上会议旨在进一步完善全球校友网络，为国际学生校友搭建畅叙情谊、共话发展的平台。此次会议也是对2022年举办我校首届全球国际校友大会进行的前期工作布置和安排。
Since the 1950s, HUST has been recruiting international students and has cultivated a large number of outstanding talents in the past 70 years. Recently, the School of International Education has been actively working to build up global alumni network and provide a communication platform for international alumni. Moreover, this online gathering is a preparation and working arrangement for 2022 HUST Global International Alumni Conference held next year.
