"2+2" Joint Education Program Meeting between Huazhong University of Science and Technology and King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang successfully held

On the morning of April 28th, "2+2" Joint Education Program Meeting between Huazhong University of Science and Technology and King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) was successfully held at the School of International Education of HUST. The two parties had a heated discussion on the undergraduate degree program for Thailand students to study the major of Chinese Language and Literature.

The meeting was co-hosted by Mr. LI Minghao from KMITL and Mr. YU Wenchang from HUST. Mr. Chaiyan Jettanasen, Vice President, Mr. LI Hang, Liaison Officer with China, Ms. Chada Triamvithaya, Head of the Chinese Language Program, Ms. Kittiya Nawakitwong, Secretary from the President office of KMITL joined the meeting. On the HUST side, Mr. LIU Jiuming, Dean, Mr. YE Zhi, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of the School of Humanities, Ms. ZHAO Xiaofeng, Deputy Dean of the School of International Education and other staff members from HUST attended the meeting.

Mr. Chaiyan Jettanasen, Vice President from KMITL, introduced the university ranking, faculty and staff, development plan, advanced disciplines and their international education programs. He also introduced the program that KMITL has cooperated with Chinese universities in recent years.

On behalf of HUST, Ms. ZHAO Xiaofeng extended warm welcome to Thai participants, and introduced in detail the overall development of HUST and our international education. She hoped that HUST and KMITL could cooperate in wider areas in the future based on the "2+2" Joint Education Program.

Mr. LIU Jiuming introduced the historical development, advanced disciplines and international education of the School of Humanities, and stressed the significance of "2+2" Joint Education Program to both sides.

Afterwards, the two parties discussed the MOA in details, such as HSK entry level for Thailand students, credit recognition and transfer, staff exchanges, number of students and other issues.

In recent years, to enhance the international reputation and explore new admission channels, HUST has taken the initiative to develop overseas cooperative education programs and made continuous innovation on international students’ admission. The "2+2" Joint Education Program with KMITL provides new insights for HUST to stabilize admission channels, select high-quality students, and promote the quality and efficiency of admission.
