This is my all-time favorite quote and has been the force of experiencing various cultures. China was once such an opportunity for me. Those 2 years in China and HUST were filled with joy, laughter, long-lasting friendships, and experiences that shaped me into what I am today.

A little introduction about myself- I am Mumal Mustafa Soomro from Pakistan and I am currently working as a Financial Consultant in the Power Sector of Pakistan. I’ve completed my Masters in World Economics from the School of Economics, HUST. China holds a very dear place in my heart. My parents being the graduates of Tsinghua University and Beijing Language and Culture University always talked about their beautiful experiences in the 80s. This compelled me to apply for the CSC and I consider myself lucky to get into HUST. It almost feels like yesterday when I boarded the plane to China, not knowing what to expect but excited for what lay ahead of me and now I’ve tons of memories and experiences that I keep close to my heart. It is HUST where I made ever-lasting friends from different backgrounds and cultures. It is China and HUST where I pursued my love for traveling and exploring. HUST made me learn independence and encouraged me to explore myself in ways that I never thought I would ever do.

While the pandemic may have restricted many of us from traveling around the world but I hope to visit HUST and its beautiful campus one day and relive the beautiful memories.

这是我一直以来最喜欢的一句话，也是支持我去体验各种文化的动力。中国对我来说就是这样的体验。在华中科技大学的两年，充满了欢乐、友谊，正是这两年的求学经历塑造了今天的我。

我是来自巴基斯坦的Mumal Mustafa Soomro，目前在巴基斯坦的电力部门担任财务顾问。我在华中大经济学院完成了世界经济学的硕士课程。中国在我心中有着非常重要的地位，我的父母是清华大学和北京语言大学的毕业生，我经常听他们谈起在80年代的美好留学经历，这促使我申请CSC奖学金，能到华中大学习我认为自己很幸运。登上飞往中国的飞机的那段记忆，几乎像昨天发生的事一样清晰，当时的我不知道会发生什么，但对未来感到兴奋，现在的我有许多美好回忆珍藏在心中。在华中科技大学，我结识了来自不同背景和文化的朋友，在这里我可以尽情挥洒对旅行和探索的热爱。母校让我学会了独立，鼓励我以我从未想过的方式探索自己。

虽然新冠疫情限制了我们到世界各地旅行，但我希望有一天能重访华中大美丽的校园，重温那些美好的回忆。
