Memories
Greetings, I am Tayyaba Iftikhar from Pakistan. I will have been awarded a PhD degree from School of Chemistry and Chemical engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China at the end of June 2022. Today I am going to be sharing a few of my favorite memories from my time at HUST. The most enjoyable, lovable, memorable, and fanciful phases of our life with lots of nostalgic and immortal memories are childhood, college and university life. And yes, university period has been the best phase of my life. Fond memories of the days spent at HUST evoke visual images of people, places and time spent on the campus. If I stop and close my eyes, I can see it all so clearly and feel as if those days were not very long ago.
It is here that I met my most influential and life-changing role models who not only chiselled and shaped my life, but continue to inspire me even to this day. It was my good fortune that I found such worthy role models among my Professors especially Professor Hongfang Liu. Each one of them inspired and motivated not only me but also all the students under them.
As the end of the academic year looms ever closer, a lot of students will either be starting your journey with us or checking out and leaving for that next life challenge. Whether it be that first student union night out, or walking across the stage to graduate, there is no denying that your journey from a fresher to fully fledged graduate is one worth remembering.
University life is perhaps the only phase in life when you will be able to be yourself, trying out entirely new things, finding your passion, and exploring life. My days at HUST were a challenge and enlightening experience for me with full of tensions. It facilitated my personal growth and development and provided me with life-long attributes. I feel that I am a kind of a detached soul with a practical outlook towards life. But still, I miss all the people with tears and smiles. I can relate to everything I left behind. One specific thing especially I believe that if someone has a dream that seems close to impossible, they just have to keep trying. It doesn’t matter where they live, or how poor or rich they are, as long as they try their hardest, they too can achieve anything they want. Last but not least, I would like to share these golden words “Things end but memories last forever”.
Graduation Message
As a graduate, I will forever remain grateful to my school, a place where I learned how to think without the box, dream without borders and imagine without boundaries. Best wishes to freshers for the future ahead. Dream big, dream wide, dream deeply; impossibility is not a possibility. I will forever cherish these words. Happy graduation to me.
Plan after graduation: Postdoctor from School of Environmental Sciences & Engineering (HUST).
