On the morning of September 24, 2026, the Mid-Autumn Festival themed activity was warmly held at the Service Center of Jingwu Community. The School of International Education organized international student representatives from different countries to participate in the event. They gathered together with community residents, celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival amid folk custom experiences and cheerful laughter, and shared the bond of friendship between Chinese and foreign neighbors.

The event opened with a relaxing ice-breaking session, where community residents and international students greeted and communicated with each other and exchanged festive wishes. In the following folk custom experience session, all participants tasted various featured mooncakes of Su-style, Cantonese-style and other types, watched the live demonstration of sugar painting — an intangible cultural heritage craft — up close, and got hands-on experience with intangible cultural heritage works including Song brocade handbags, creative sand painting, traditional lantern making and Chinese flower arrangement. Immersed in the traditional folk culture experience, they jointly felt the profound cultural connotations of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The venue was brimming with joy and warmth, fully showcasing the heartwarming vibe of culture integration.

During the event, international students voluntarily served as community volunteers, cooperating with the staff to serve on-site residents and ensure the smooth running of the event. They integrated into community life through practical actions, contributing to the development of the internationalized community.

This event serves as a vivid practice of deepening the joint development of an internationalized community between the HUST School of International Education and Jingwu Community. It not only allows international students to experience the charm of traditional Chinese festivals up close, but also injects diverse cultural vitality into the community. Going forward, the school will continue to promote further collaboration, enrich the connotation of the “HUST Model” for national conditions education, and polish the “Discover China” brand. It will organize international students to take an in-depth part in community practices and cultural exchanges, guide them to gain a comprehensive, multi-dimensional understanding of the real China, and strive to cultivate international talents who know and are friendly to China.
