To thoroughly implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s series of reply letters to international students, and launch the featured practical course “Following the President to Understand China”, International Students Clinical Internship Program carry out a national conditions education study tour in Jiangxi from March 25 to 27, 2026. As a key component of the third classroom for national conditions education, this field trip led interns from Germany, Austria and other countries to gain an in-depth understanding of the inheritance, innovation and development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and perceive the practical achievements of China’s medical modernization.
At Jiangzhong Pharmaceutical Valley of China Resources Jiangzhong Pharmaceutical Group, the students earnestly studied President Xi Jinping’s important instruction that “Traditional Chinese Medicine is a treasure of the Chinese nation, and we must protect, explore, develop and inherit it well”. They successively visited the intelligent manufacturing workshops and scientific and research center, learned on-site about the innovative practices of deep integration between traditional TCM and modern technologies, and intuitively felt the high-quality development achievements of the TCM industry empowered by science and technology. Combining with their professional studies in clinical internship, the students exchanged and discussed topics including the coordinated development of traditional Chinese and Western medicine and the international application of TCM, further understood the connotation and effectiveness of China’s medical modernization, and deeply recognized the significance of building a Healthy China.
During the trip, the students also visited the August 1st Nanchang Uprising Memorial Hall to comprehend the red revolutionary spirit and understand the history of the Communist Party of China. They went to Jiangxi Provincial Museum to experience the profound heritage of excellent traditional Chinese culture, deepening their understanding of China’s history and development path.
As one of the brand activities for clinical internship international students of the university, this event has transformed featured practices into educational effectiveness, and continuously deepened the construction of the “HUST Model” for national conditions education. In the future, the School of International Education will continuously improve international students’ understanding of China’s national conditions and their international communication capacity, guide them to understand a real, multidimensional, and comprehensive China, build a featured educational brand, expand the international influence of the program, which will assist the university in building a study destination sought after by young people around the world.
