Language Students Experienced Traditional Chinese Culture

In the afternoon of April 8th,  language students from Class D2 joined in the traditional cultural activity, “Knitting Chinese Knots” in Dong 9 Teaching Building. After the two-hour of knitting activity, students expressed their fondness of Chinese knots and some of them even wished to learn more. "I'll knit a bracelet for my girlfriend!" said Anrui from Brazil after he got to know about the meaning of the red bracelet.

On April 11th, language students from Class D2 hold a food-sharing party at campus. All food set on the table, friends began to enjoy the sumptuous feast. “Chefs” all illustrated the specialities of their own food, and Laughter erupted from time to time when somebody said something funny.     The ambrosial “UN dinner” ended in pleasure. “We should hold such activities more often in the future, next time I can cook food of my country for you!”the Bulgarian student Ma Long said in the end.

In the afternoon of April 22, language students from Class D2 had enjoyed the charm of traditional Chinese paper cutting. In the end, all international students expressed their appreciation of the fun culture activity and their intention to use their own work as decoration in their rooms. “I’m going to put it up on my door so everybody else knows who lives in here!” Vito held his cut self-portrait, saying happily.

On 20th May, language students from class D2 learned about Chinese traditional handwriting, which was very interesting to them to know how our ancestors used to write Chinese characters. Finally, students started to put themselves in the right start to learn a big part of the Chinese Culture by using the idea they got from the class. Through this learning process, students learnt to get the results which increase their excitement and love for China.
