Several Ethiopian international alumni have achieved good career development

Recently, ISO, SIE-HUST has learned that several Ethiopian international alumni have achieved good career development. Dr. KEMAL MOHAMMED ZEINU, alumnus of School of Environmental Science and Engineering (Chinese Name: 周哲) was appointed the mayor of Kombolcha; Dr. ELYAS ABDULAHI MOHAMUED (Chinese Name: 莫煜), alumnus of School of Economics, was appointed the Vice President of JIGJIGA University; Dr. DRESSE SAHILU GOSHU (Chinese Name: 古树), alumnus of School of Public Administration, was appointed the mayor of Bahir Dar.

Dr. KEMAL MOHAMMED ZEINU is a 2014 doctoral student in the school of Environmental Science and Engineering. He was funded by the Chinese Government Scholarship and supervised by Professor HU Jingping. He got his Ph.D. degree in 2017. Kombolcha is an important port city in northeastern Ethiopia. In 2017, the Kombolcha-Bati-Mille highway upgrading project in Ethiopia undertaken by China Chemical Transportation Construction Group Co., Ltd. was completed.

Dr. ELYAS ABDULAHI MOHAMUED is a 2016 doctoral student in the School of Economics, HUST. He was funded by the Chinese Government Scholarship. His supervisor is Professor LI Weibing and Assistant Professor SHU Yang. He got his Ph.D. degree in 2019. JIGJIGA is the eastern city of Ethiopia and the capital of Somalia state. JIGJIGA University was founded in 2007 and is one of the second-generation public higher institutions in Ethiopia.

Dr. DRESSE SAHILU GOSHU is a 2017 doctoral student in the School of Public Administration, HUST. He was funded by the MOFCOM Scholarship. His supervisor is Professor XU Xiaolin and he got his Ph.D. degree in 2020. Bahir Dar, the city in northwestern Ethiopia, is the capital of Amhara National Regional State. It is a city endowed with immense natural resources surrounded by Lake Tana, which is the source of the Blue Nile. It is a city which is the first tourist destination in Ethiopia. He would like to extend his heartfelt gratitude to HUST and all HUST families, who made him strong and competent. He also said to HUST, “With your great effort I have got this great honor and high responsibility. I am proud of HUST and HUST should also be proud of its students. We all HUSTERS are proud of HUST.”
