According to the latest ESI (Essential Science Indicators) data released by Clarivate Analytics in March, HUST's discipline of Molecular Biology and Genetics has entered the top 1‰ globally. This is the 10th ESI Global Top 1‰ Discipline that HUST has gained.
In this period, a total of 1,222 institutions are ranked in the top 1% of ESI in Molecular Biology and Genetics, with HUST ranking 120th globally. A total of 10 universities in the Chinese Mainland have entered the top 1‰ in this discipline.

This new breakthrough in the ranking of Molecular Biology and Genetics is the result of collaborative efforts across multiple departments and units of HUST, including Tongji Hospital, Union Hospital, School of Basic Medicine, College of Life Science and Technology, School of Public Health, School of Electronic Information and Communications, Institute of Reproductive Health, School of Pharmacy and Department of Forensic Medicine.
