To enhance student engagement and teaching quality, the Center for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language held an end-of-term symposium for Chinese language students on January 19, 2026. The meeting was attended by He Gang, Vice Dean of School of International Education, Yu Zheng, Director of the Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, and faculty representatives.
Student representatives shared their learning experiences and suggestions regarding curriculum design, teaching methods, and cultural activities. Many expressed interest in more interaction with Chinese students and enriched cultural immersion. Some also proposed improvements to campus facilities based on their experiences.
Vice Dean He Gang thanked students for their active participation and constructive feedback, affirming that the school would carefully consider their input to optimize teaching and activities. He also highlighted campus safety awareness, particularly in light of a recent traffic incident, and encouraged students to contribute to a safer environment.
Director Yu Zheng addressed students' academic concerns and praised their progress. She stated that the Center would continue to refine its support systems and services to further assist students in their Chinese language learning.
The symposium served as an effective platform for teacher-student communication and embodied the "student-centered" teaching approach. The Center plans to sustain such dialogues to foster mutual growth and continuously improve the quality of international Chinese language education.
