On September 10th, the Inauguration Ceremony for International Students of 2014 Fall was held in the Activity Hall in Friendship Apartment. Over 250 new international students attended the ceremony along with the teachers from International Student Office.
In the beginning, Mr. Lan Hanghang told international students “Today’s Teacher’s Day in China”, so all the students showed their best wishes and great respect for teachers. Then Mr. Lan gave a brief introduction to the city Wuhan and the HUST Campus.
Afterwards, Ms. Zhao Xiaofeng, the Deputy Dean of the School of International Education of HUST, expressed her warm welcome to the new members of this campus. Ms. Zhao also said “thank you” for the new students bringing fresh air to the campus. In the end of her speaking, Ms. Zhao hoped all the international students could have “a successful study and a wonderful life in HUST”.
Prof. Dominik Strzalka , the Deputy Dean of Electrical and Computer Engineering, from Rzeszów University of Technology, which is HUST’s partnership university in Poland also welcomed new international students to China. Powalla Patrick David, an exchange student RWTH Aachen University(Germany), as the representative of new students, expressed his expectation to academic life and great time in HUST.
We believe that with the help of the International Student Office, our new international students will enjoy their lives here in HUST and have a promising future.
