The 2014 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) is released on August.15, by the Center for World-Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In the latest result, HUST ranks 215^th globally, which has made a significant improvement compared with 322^th of last year and the year before last year.

With the great effort made by all faculties and students, HUST’s ranking has enhanced greatly not only in the overall list, but also has risen in multiple fields and subjects. HUST computer science leaps to 81^th in the worldwide ranking in 2014, compared to 111^th last year. A great progress has also been made by the field of engineering, which rises from 108^th to 81^th. As for mathematics, HUST ranks 109^th this year compared to 113^th of last year.
