3+3 Program

 

1.Brief Introduction

"3+3" Program is a unique six-month initiative combining three months of intensive Chinese language study with three months of a professional corporate internship in sectors such as technology, finance, and management.

Designed for Chinese language enthusiasts and students seeking professional experience in China, this program offers a comprehensive immersion. Participants will not only acquire essential Chinese communication skills and cultural understanding but also gain invaluable internship experience. They will witness firsthand how university research translates into real-world applications and experience China's growing capacity for independent innovation.

2. Chinese Learning

The Chinese Language Center provides program participants with excellent communicational skills of Chinese language and better understanding of Chinese culture. Main courses like Elementary Comprehensive Chinese(基础综合汉语),Business Chinese(商务汉语),Chinese Panorama(中国概况)and Chinese Speaking & Listening (汉语听说)are offered according to characteristics of the program: intensive, practical, focusing on listening and speaking. There are 20 class hours per week. (1 class hour=45 minutes)


           Program participants are learning Chinese


3.Enterprise Internship


Participants will be grouped based on their interests to undertake internship projects. Through teamwork in Chinese enterprises, participants will enhance their abilities to:

● Apply technical knowledge to solve real-world problems;

● Work effectively within multicultural teams;

● Translate technological and innovative ideas into productivity gains.

To ensure a smooth integration, a dedicated support team will be assigned to each participant, including:

● Internship Mentor: Provides project guidance and task supervision.

● Program Manager: Coordinates internship arrangements with the host company.

●  Student Volunteer: Assists with daily academic and internship-related matters.

Working hours: 8 hours/day

Accommodation: International Student Apartments on HUST campus.

Transportation: Shuttle bus or public transportation.

Meals: Breakfast and dinner on campus. Lunch is offered by the host company.


4. Certificates

After students finish the program,  2 certificates including Certificate of Completion and Certificate of Internship will be granted.

6.How to apply


Application Deadlines:

· December 15th, 2025 (For Spring 2026 Intake)

· June 15th, 2026 (For Autumn 2026 Intake)

Step 1.

Log in to the online application system at http://admission.hust.edu.cn/.

Step 2.

Select "Chinese Language and Practice" Prgram, upload all required documents, and submit your application.

Step 3.

Pay the application fee.


1) Required Documents


 a. A scanned copy of the passport photo page.

 b. Official certificate of the highest education or an official enrollment document from the current institution.
 c. Transcripts.
 d. Physical Examination Form: A completed health form. (Applicants already in China may upload a personal health certificate or a copy of their valid residence permit instead.)
 e. Certificate of Non-criminal Record: An official document issued by a local police station or relevant law enforcement agency.
 f. Financial Certification/Bank Statement: Proof of funds equivalent to at least 3,000 USD
 g. Guardian Documents (for applicants under 18): Certified documents signed by the appointed legal guardian(s) in China.


2) Fees


  Application fee: 600 CNY

  Chinese learning: 5000 CNY

  Enterprise Internship: free of charge

   Accommodation: 700-1200 CNY/month

   Insurance Fee: 400 CNY/Semester

   Dinning: 1500-2000 CNY/month
