An exciting football match was held on the western playground at 12 a.m. on Saturday. The competing teams were the HUST local team and the International student’s team. Both teams played remarkably well and put out a great fight on the field. The game ended with the victory of the international students 3 to 2.

At about 11:30 a.m. the two teams met up at playground, to do some pre game exercises. A Cameroonian from the international students team said“ The local team is getting better, they have improved a lot from last year.” At the beginning of the match, the HUST team dominated the match and was in high spirits. After several quick attacks, the local team took the lead. As the game progressed, the Int’l students’ team gradually got into the groove. Their speed and their coordination improved. They successfully organized several effective attacks and took the lead with their third goal. Finally, the match ended with the international students’ victory 3:2.

“ I think it is a very good opportunity for both teams to communicate, learn from each other in mutual emulation, improve our skills, especially for us, we will compete nationally on behalf of the Hubei universities in April next year. So we need this match to improve.” said by Chen Yitian, the captain of the HUST local team.

Regardless of the score and who won, the most important thing was that the two teams enjoyed the game. “Friendship comes first, competition second.”
