On the morning of September 29th, the 2022 "Discover at HUST" Online Promotional Session for Global Partners—first session for University of Canterbury (UC), was successfully held. Chia-rong Wu, Dean of the Confucius Institute at the University of Canterbury (CIUC), YU Qianhua, Chinese Dean of CIUC, Monique van Veen, Director of International Cooperation and Student Services of the International Office of UC, and Elizabeth Zou, Manager of Chinese Relations and University Cooperation of the International Office of the UC, attended the session. Students from UC participated in this event.

    Ms. YAN Wei, from School of International Education, HUST, gave a detailed introduction of the university development history, comprehensive ranking, discipline construction, social service, and campus environment. During the presentation, she recommended “Discover at HUST” online learning platform which consists of various high-quality courses, such as "Explore Jingchu Culture" and "Communicative Chinese".

    Elizabeth Zou expressed her heartfelt gratitude to HUST for the continuous support received from HUST during the pandemic. She hopes to strengthen mutual exchanges and cooperation by the two sides, and further promote construction of the University of Canterbury Study Center in Partnership with Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Monique van Veen expressed her interest in participating in Chinese language learning programs on “Discover at HUST” online platform, and thanked HUST for providing resourceful learning materials and opportunities for UC students.

    This year, HUST and UC signed the Memorandum of Agreement for University of Canterbury Study Center in Partnership with Huazhong University of Science and Technology. With a shared value of student-focused education, the two parties reached an agreement on establishing a study center to overcome challenges for international exchanges brought by the pandemic. As an important strategic partner, UC is invited to attend the first session of 2022 HUST themed online promotional session for global partners. In the future, there will be a series of sessions for global partners to attract more high-quality international students and expand the global influence of Study at HUST.
