-- The 11th of the Team Introduction Series of HUST History and Chinese Culture Contest, an event devoted to the celebration of the 70th Anniversary of HUST.

Team “The Smart Amigos”

Today, the team "The Smart Amigos" from School of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering is presented to you – which consists of a group of “engineers” pursing their dreams in China. When it comes to their experience in China, they mentioned that they initially appeared to be fidgety, wondering whether they could adapt to the new environment, but gradually they integrated into this land. What has attracted them was not only the rapid development of China, but also the amity and inclusiveness of dribs and drabs in life, like a plant, a flower, a person, a twinkle, a smile, etc. All these bring warmth to the members of the team and make them feel at home in a foreign country.

Dreams have tied them closer to China, and their love for various ancient Chinese style architecture has ignited their passion for human history and folk culture in China. Whether it is the carved beams and painted buildings, the magnificent Yangtze River Bridge, the flowing water from the endless rivers, the grand and winding Great Wall, or the busy streets filled with the smell of grilled meats, the sweet snacks hidden in a narrow hutong, they never cease their footsteps in their discovery tour in China. Their beaming faces with smiling eyes explained their pleasant harvest and surprise brought by the land beneath their feet.

The members of the team from “The Smart Amigos” are grateful for everyday life in HUST, and they are determined to turn this gratitude into motivation. Thus, they cherish such an opportunity to share knowledge and exchange thoughts with Chinese youth, which paves the way for them to become narrators and disseminators of Chinese culture, practitioners and promoters among the people of different countries for friendship.

Please take a look at the brief introduction to the team members and a video from them.
