This spring semester, a group of newcomers from South Korea, Thailand and Nicaragua are starting their school life in HUST. On April 10, Chinese volunteers from SICA organized a campus tour for international freshmen under the guidance of SIE to help them adapt to campus life and have a better understanding of the university history, culture and spirit.

International students first visited the Museum of HUST. They listened curiously and earnestly as the volunteer expounded on HUST’s development history and outstanding achievements, further stimulating their yearning for study and life in HUST. It’s the first time for them to visit the university museum and to learn its history and culture in such a direct way, by which their knowledge of HUST is expanded and the expectation of the upcoming 70th anniversary celebration events is aroused.

Subsequently, led by Chinese volunteers, international students visited a series of landmarks in the main campus. Chinese and foreign students rode electric scooters from east to west, passing the research laboratories including Wuhan National High Magnetic Field Center, Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, Laboratory of Gravitation, State Key Laboratory of Coal Combustion, encountering characteristic landmarks like Wutongyu Academic Exchange Center, Zuiwan Pavilion, Optics Valley Stadium, Yudai Bridge, Huxi River, Einstein Square, Youth Park, etc. During the campus tour, Chinese volunteers also introduced the study and lifestyle in HUST to the international students. KIM KIRYANG, a Chinese language student from Sungkyunkwan University, said that she is really surprised at the super large campus and particularly impressed by the enthusiastic cheers and tremendous vitality on the playground, and the vigorous youth in HUST.

The “Friendship Tour” held on campus allows the international students to further understand the glorious history, development status, and experience the charm of HUST. Meanwhile, it also encourages Chinese and foreign youth to strengthen their friendly exchanges, and contribute positively to promote Sino-foreign friendly cooperation.
