OnApril 19, 2013, International Student Office in Tongji Medical College organized
one-day tour in Wuhan for postgraduate students and pharmacy students of 2012
batch.
The first station isTingtao Scenic Area (Listening-to-waves Scenic Area) which is
near East Lake.With introduction of the teachers, students also visited the Poetry-Reciting
Pavilion (Xingyinge), which is built for memorizing works of Qu Yuan, the greatpatriotic
poet of the State of Chu (one of the seven warring states before Qin(221BC-206BC) in
China's first feudal dynasty).
After enjoying thebeautiful view around East Lake, students were taken to the Hubei
ProvincialMuseum. Through watching Bianzhong (an ancient Chinese musical instrument
consisting of a set of bronze bells, played melodically) performances andvisiting the
Chime Bells Exhibition Hall and the Chu Culture Exhibition Hall,students got to know
more about Chu culture and Chinese history.
In the noon, studentsexperienced various kinds of snacks in Hubuxiang (Hubu Alley),
a famouspedestrian street for food in Wuhan. And then students took a visit at the
Yellow Crane Tower, which is considered one of theFour Great Towers of China.
The trip ended with a short view at the Chu River and Han Street,which houses shopping
malls, restaurants, cultural and recreational sites.
