On May. 25th, more than 10 Chinese and also Russian students represented HUST to join Sino-Russian Youth Friendly Exchange Camp, which was held by Education Office of Hubei province and Huazhong Normal University.

Together with other Chinese and Russian students of different universities, they laid wreaths at the Tomb of the Russian Martyrs, visited the Port of the Oriental Tea to experience tea culture, enjoyed the beautiful scenery from Qingchuan Ge, and paid a worthy visit to Yangtze Optical Fibre & Cable Company Ltd.. The whole trip was ended up with a splendid party, where Russian and Chinese cultures were expressed through many gorgeous performances.

This year is the 65th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, and also is the Sino-Russia Youth Friendly Exchange Year. While standing in front of the Tomb of the Russian Martyrs in Jiefang Park, Max, a Russian student majoring in International Trade at HUST, was deeply touched and said, “ This is the third year since I’ve been China. Last year I went back to Russia and had joined the army for one year, so now I could totally understand the soldiers who held a belief in their deep mind that they would sacrifice themselves whenever the country needs them. I feel so proud of the Russian and Chinese martyrs.”

In the party time, Russian and Chinese Husters sang a classical Russian song named Katyusha. All Chinese students dressed up with Russian folk costumes, while Russian students sang a part of the song in Chinese, trying to express their deep love to China. The party was full of happiness and harmony, and finally came to an end with loud applauds and laughter.
