On the afternoon of August 28, Professor Tarek Mekhail, President of New Cairo Technological University (NCTU) in Egypt, visited Huazhong University of Science and Technology(HUST). The meeting was hosted by Professor Chen Rong, Dean of School of International Education.
Professor Chen Rong extended a warm welcome to President Tarek Mekhail and provided an overview of HUST's educational development, disciplinary strengths, international cooperation, and international student admissions. She particularly highlighted the university's notable achievements in cultivating high-level Egyptian talent.

President Tarek Mekhail is a seasoned scholar and educational administrator in the field of applied technology talent development in Egypt. He received his Ph.D. in Power and Energy Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2002 and has long been engaged in research on turbomachinery design, computational fluid dynamics, solar thermal utilization, wind energy, and other renewable energy sources. During the exchange, he expressed his willingness to strengthen collaboration with HUST in talent cultivation in Egypt and in university-enterprise cooperative initiatives.

HUST has a strong foundation of cooperation with Egypt, having educated nearly 100 Egyptian international students to date. Its alumni are active across Egypt's political, academic, and industrial sectors, serving as witnesses to and promoters of China-Egypt friendship.
