Dear friends,

First of all, we would like to extend our sincere greetings to you and our heartfelt concerns about your well-being. In response to the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), epidemic prevention and control measures are being taken in an orderly manner. Hereby, we wish to bring the following matters to your special attention.

ii. Follow official updates

Please follow the international column on Hubei Daily App and the WeChat official account of HUST “ihuster” for the latest updates about epidemic prevention and control. Keep calm and avoid believing and spreading false and unverified information.

iii. Take precautions and minimize outdoor activities

a)     Maintain good personal hygiene by washing your hands more frequently.

b)     Keep indoor air fresh and rooms clean.

c)     Avoid crowded places and close contact with anyone with flu-like symptoms, do wear a surgical mask if you have to go outside, and dispose used masks and gloves properly.

d)     Avoid exposure to wild animals and make sure eggs & meat are thoroughly cooked before consumption.

e)     When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with paper towels to avoid droplet transmission.

iv. Seek timely medical help

Please monitor your health condition closely. If you have any symptoms of fever, cough, fatigue, or shortness of breath, please seek immediate medical help with a mask on.

As a tiered medical service system is now in operation, medical institutions at various levels assume different functions. Therefore we suggest you start with a community clinic for preliminary screening, and follow the process of “community clinic - fever clinic - designated hospital” to make sure that you get the most efficient and appropriate medical service.

HUST is our common home. Let’s join hands for the prevention & control of the viral pneumonia and safeguard together the health of our community, thank you.
