Notice Regarding National Mourning Day on April 4th 2020

To all international students,

According to the latest news from the State Council of People’s Republic of China, in order to memorize all Chinese martyrs who fought hard in the NCP prevention and control, there will be national mourning day for all deceased compatriots on April 4th, 2020. National flags will be flown at half-mast across the country and Chinese embassies across the world. All public entertainment will be suspended during this day.

At 10am, April 4th, all Chinese people of all ethnicities across the nation will stand in silent tribute for 3 minutes and all cars, trains, and ships will be sirening and air-raid warning will be alarmed.  The International Student Office hereby reminds all international students that please pay silent tribute to all deceased people and remain respectable solemn during mourning time.


为表达全国各族人民对抗击新冠肺炎疫情斗争牺牲烈士和逝世同胞的深切哀悼,国务院决定,2020年4月4日举行全国性哀悼活动。在此期间,全国和驻外使领馆下半旗志哀,全国停止公共娱乐活动。

4月4日10时起,全国人民默哀3分钟,汽车、火车、舰船鸣笛,防空警报鸣响。国际学生办公室提醒同学们在悼念期间应保持肃穆、庄重、敬意以及哀悼的心境。
