In order to help more international students experience the fun of dragon boat sports and Chinese culture of unity, friendship, and striving for excellence, enrich students extracurricular life, and enhance their physical fitness, the School of International

Education and the School of Physical Education jointly hold the 2026 International Student Dragon Boat Invitational.

As usual, the event is composed of an English lecture on dragon boat sport and dragon boat culture, two training sessions, and the final race. The schedule is as follows:


1.  The  English  Lecture

Topic

Dragon  Boat  Culture  in China 

Speaker

Heng  Shen,  Lecturer  of  School  of  Physical   Education,  National  Dragon  Boat Race  Referee


Time

On  May  12th  (Tuesday)  evening  7:00-8:00 pm

2.  Training Session 1&2

Purpose

You  will  get  hands-on  experience  with   rowing  the  dragon  boat,  and the coach will  introduce  some 

stroke  techniques   and  paddling  basics  that are important to  run,  steer, or  hold  the  boat.

May  14th  (Thursday)  afternoon &  May  21th    (Thursday) afternoon 2:306:00pm Two teams form one group. One team practices for one hour.

3. The Friendship Race

Time

May 28th (Thursday) afternoon 2:005:30pm

Dragon Boat Training Base, Yujia Lake


Notes for Participants

1. Due to limited spots, the final participant list will be confirmed in the order of registration form submission.

2. Please ensure you have enough time to participate in the race on May 28th (Thursday) afternoon 2:00— 5:30pm. Please arrange your classes and spare time in advance.

If you cannot participate for personal reasons, you may transfer your spot to another eligible student.

3. If you choose to give up your spot, it will be offered to the next eligible applicant on the waiting list.

4. Before registration, you must confirm that you will attend at least one on-water practical training session.
