Notice on transferring of student status and moving to Tongji campus

for international medical students enrolled in 2020

Dear international medical students enrolled in 2020,

Under the influence of Coivd-19 pandemic, most of your studying and learning have to be online. We really appreciate your hardworking and are glad to see the great achievement you have made during the past year.

After the inspection and the clearing of your academic credits, we want to share with you some important information about our arrangements of the transferring of your student status and your moving to Tongji campus.

I. Transferring of student status

According to article 19 of the Administrative Measures for Undergraduate Foreign Students of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST [2014] No. 30), the credit clearing work of the international students majoring in Clinical Medicine (taught in Chinese) is the same as that of Chinese students. For international students majoring in MBBS, if the student fails 4 or more courses in the first year (missing or delaying examination is counted as failed), s/he should either extend the study period for one year to retake the courses failed in the College of Life Science and Technology, or give up the learning qualification.

1. 22 international students of clinical medicine (taught in Chinese) enrolled in 2020 were transferred to the School of Basic Medicine for further study.

2. Two international students of MBBS enrolled in 2019 were transferred to the School of Basic Medicine for further study after retaking the courses.

3. 44 international students of MBBS enrolled in 2020, who meet the relevant qualifications, were transferred to the School of Basic Medicine for further study

4. 5 international students of MBBS enrolled in 2020 (see attachment) who fail to pass more than 4 courses should either extend their study period for one year in the College of Life Science and Technology at their own expense, or give up their study qualification.

II. Moving to Tongji campus

On August 27, 2021, ISO will organize the moving to Tongji campus for international medical students and are now living on main campus. The arrangements are as follows：

1. A total of 20 students will move to Tongji campus, including 5 MBBS students and 15 international students majoring in Clinical Medicine (taught in Chinese).

2. ISO will provide free packing bags. Student can pick them up at the front desk of Baijingge Apartment from August 24 to August 26.

3. ISO will arrange the bus for the students to move to Tongji campus. And their personal belongings, including daily necessities, electrical appliances, bicycles/electric vehicles, etc., will be transferred to Tongji Campus by truck. ISO will not charge the students for this.

4. The schedule of the moving will be announced around August 25.

III. Points for attention

1. The 5 MBBS students who have failed four or more courses can apply to the College of Life Science and Technology for reconsideration if they have objection to their grades；

2. If the international students living off campus would like to move to Tongji Campus or other places, the students should arrange their own time for moving and bear the expense themselves.

3. For international students who have transferred to the School of Basic Medicine and are now abroad, the teaching issues of the next semester will be arranged by the School of Basic Medicine.

4. For international students who have transferred to the School of Basic Medicine and are now abroad, the Tongji ISO will be responsible for the management work such as accommodation and visa issues when they are able to return to campus.

关于2020级医科国际学生学籍转移和宿舍搬迁的通知

全体2020级医科国际学生：

受全球新冠肺炎疫情影响，2020级医科国际学生教学工作以线上授课为主，全体同学坚持认真学习，取得了较好的成绩，经学分清理，现将学籍转移和宿舍搬迁工作通知如下：

一、学籍转移

根据《华中科技大学本科外国留学生管理办法》（校教[2014]30号）第十九条规定，临床医学专业（汉语授课）学生学分清理工作与同专业中国学生一致；临床医学专业（英语授课）学生第一年学习后应进行淘汰筛选，凡第一学年未通过课程数目达到4门及以上（旷考或缓考按未通过计算），可选择在生命科学与技术学院延长学习期限一年重修未通过课程，或放弃学习资格。

1. 2020级22名临床医学专业（汉语授课）国际学生，学籍转入基础医学院继续学习。

2. 2019级延长学习的2名临床医学专业（英语授课）国际学生，通过重修满足相关条件，学籍转入基础医学院继续学习；

3. 2020级44名临床医学专业（英语授课）国际学生，满足相关条件，学籍转入基础医学院继续学习；

4. 2020级5名临床医学专业（英语授课）国际学生（信息附后），未通过课程数目达4门以上，应在生命科学与技术学院延长学习期限一年，期间学费等费用自理，或放弃学习资格。

二、宿舍搬迁

定于2021年8月27日，组织现住校内的2020级医科国际学生搬迁至同济校区，具体安排如下：

1.搬迁人员共20人，包括临床医学（英语授课）国际学生5人，临床医学（汉语授课）国际学生15人；

2.行李打包编织袋等，由学校统一提供，不收取费用，可于2021年8月24-26日，到柏景阁公寓前台处领取；

3.搬迁车辆由学校统一提供，不收取费用，搬迁客车集中转运国际学生到同济校区，搬迁货车集中转运国际学生的个人物品到同济校区，包括生活用品、电器、自行车/电动车等。

4.搬迁具体时间安排，会在8月25日左右公布。

三、注意事项

1. 5名未通过课程数目达4门以上的国际学生，如对成绩有异议，可向生命科学与技术学院申请复议；

2.现住校外的国际学生，如需搬迁至同济校区校内或其他地点，时间自行安排，费用自理；

3.转入基础医学院、现在国外的国际学生，下学期教学工作由基础医学院统一安排；

4.转入基础医学院、现在国外的国际学生，待可以来校时，住宿、签证等相关管理工作，由医科国际学生办公室受理。
