Dear International Students，
The work arrangements for HUST international students in the Autumn Semester 2020 are hereby notified as follows:
# General Principle
1. The registration and teaching arrangements for international students shall be carried out in a stable and ordered manner in batches or groups.
2. International students who are now outside Chinese mainland are not allowed to return to HUST until they receive official notice from HUST.
3. Only X (study) visas are accepted when international students outside Chinese mainland are allowed to return to HUST, and other types of visas are not accepted.
4. The work arrangements for international students who are now in Chinese mainland are not applicable to those outside Chinese mainland.
I. International Students in Chinese mainland
1. For students already enrolled
A)Those who are now in Chinese mainland should come back to HUST before August 31st, and complete registration procedures of Autumn semester before September 10th;
B)Those who come back to university from other cities in Chinese mainland should conduct a nucleic acid test at their current location and apply to their departments for re-entry to campus with a valid negative nucleic acid report within 7 days. Students are allowed to return to HUST only after being approved by School of International Education. A second nucleic acid test at university hospital after returning to campus is required.
2. For new students
A)New students who are currently in Chinese mainland should come to HUST to register between September 14th and 16th, and make sure to make an appointment for pick-up service in the admission system and finish online registration in advance, the details of which will be informed later. Individual registration without appointment and online registration is not acceptable.
B)When new students come to HUST, they should carry a valid negative nucleic acid report within 7 days. After their registration, a second nucleic acid test is required.
3. International students in Chinese mainland (including currently enrolled students and new students) will participate in on-campus teaching and learning in this semester.
4. In principle, international students are not allowed to live off-campus. If there is a need for off-campus accommodation, they should apply to School of International Education.
5. International students on campus are not allowed to leave campus without permission. For special occasions, students will need to apply to their departments and report to School of International Education for approval.
II. International Students outside Chinese mainland
1. The School of International Education will inform relevant international students outside Chinese mainland to return to HUST in accordance to national border control policy. They are not allowed to return to campus before receiving official notice from HUST.
2. All international students outside Chinese mainland should finish the online registration on October 31st, 2020 at the latest. After completing the online registration, the new students can be regarded as registered students. If new students fail to complete registration before October 31st, 2020, they will be considered as having given up the admission qualification.
3. Teaching and Research Work Arrangements
A) Visiting Scholars
The university will not provide on-line teaching for visiting scholars. If you are not able to enter China, you can apply to postpone to come to university.
B) Undergraduates in English or Chinese medium, and Chinese language students
Departments will provide online teaching courses for undergraduates and Chinese language students outside Chinese mainland based on actual conditions. If students are unable to participate in online teaching due to personal reasons, or their clinical internships cannot be carried out online, they can apply for study suspension online and resume their studies afterwards.
C) Graduate Students
The instructors can provide remote guidance or online teaching or postpone courses to the next semester according to their arrangements. If scientific research requires the use of lab equipment which cannot be carried out abroad, students can apply for study suspension or change the research subject under the guidance of their instructors.

关于2020年秋季学期国际学生各项工作安排的通知
全体国际学生：
现将2020年秋季学期国际学生各项工作安排事项通知如下：
一、总体原则
1. 分类分批、稳妥有序开展国际学生报到、注册、教学工作；
2. 中国大陆境外国际学生未接到学校正式通知前，一律不得返校；
3. 当中国大陆境外国际学生返校时，仅接受X（学习类）签证，其他类型的签证一律不接受；
4. 学校对中国大陆境内国际学生的安排，不作为中国大陆境外国际学生办理任何事项的依据。
二、中国大陆境内国际学生
1. 老生
① 老生应于2020年8月31日之前返回学校，并于9月10日之前完成2020年秋季学期注册工作；
② 老生从中国大陆境内其他城市返校的，应在当前所在地进行一次核酸检测，凭7日内有效阴性核酸报告向所在院系申请返校，经国际教育学院审批后，允许返校，返校后，在校医院进行再次核酸检测。
2. 新生
① 新生于9月14-16日来校报到，并提前在录取系统中线上预约接机/接站，进行预报到，具体线上预约与预报到流程随后发布。学校不接收未线上预约及预报到直接来校报到的新生。
② 新生来校时，应携带7日内有效阴性核酸报告，来校报到后，国际教育学院组织国际学生进行再次核酸检测。
3. 中国大陆境内国际学生（含新生与老生）来校后，参与线下教学；
4. 在校国际学生原则上不在校外住宿，确有校外住宿需求，应向国际教育学院提出申请；
5. 在校国际学生无必要不出校，确有事情需要出校，应提前向所在院系申请，并报国际教育学院审批。
三、 中国大陆境外国际学生
1. 国际教育学院会根据国家边境控制措施，通知相关国际学生返校，未接到学校通知之前，一律不得返校。
2. 所有在中国大陆境外的国际学生，最迟应在10月31日完成线上的报到注册，新生在完成线上注册后，可以视为在籍学生。如境外新生在10月31日前不完成线上报到注册，视为放弃入学资格。
3. 教学科研工作
①专业进修生
不单独为专业进修生开展线上教学，如确实无法入境，可延期来校进修。
②本科生（含汉语授课和英语授课），汉语进修生
相关院系会根据实际情况，为中国大陆境外的本科生或汉语进修生提供线上教学。如相关学生因个人原因无法参加线上教学，或因临床实习无法以线上形式开展，可在线申请休学，待可以入境后再恢复学业。
③ 研究生
导师可进行远程指导，如有课程需要完成，可根据导师的安排，进行线上教学或将相关课程研修时间推迟至后续学期。如科研工作需要使用校内相关设备而在国外无法完成，可以申请休学或在导师的指导下更换课题。
